The website enables individual attorneys to list the legal services they are willing to perform, through scores or even hundreds of individual listings (in the Field/Task Database). Each "listing" or "ad" could be a single word, a phrase, or a group of keywords. For the attorney's convenience and to maintain a degree of control over the wording used to describe the offered services, the attorney users are offered a Suggested Field/Task Database of hundreds of legal fields and tasks to check off the desired records (by placing a check mark alongside the selected field/task), with the software then inputting the attorney's UserName and creating a record for each of the legal fields and tasks selected by the attorney. Also, and quite importantly, the attorney can list a URL "landing page" for each ad, and create a different landing page for each ad, if the attorney so desires. Thus, a short ad of 1-6 words can lead a prospective client to your landing page to provide full development of what you could do in the task/field described by the brief ad.
The attorney User also creates a single record in the Attorney Database which gives important information about the attorney, including the attorney's picture
(using a jpg or gif file) to be displayed alongside each field/task record found during a prospective client's search of the Field/Task Database for an attorney. The Field/Task Database is related to the Attorney Database through the attorney's unique UserName.
The prospective client User will be required to register (but is not required to join the website's permissive email list).
It is anticipated that User attorneys will be able to use the website to refer cases to other attorneys (with or without a referral fee), and expect attorneys to refer cases to them (with or without a referral fee).
There are many "areas" or "fields" of law, and many subdivisions of most areas or fields of law. Also, there is often a great number of "tasks" that lawyers perform within an "area" or "field" of law, probably amounting to many hundreds or thousands or more. The website cannot name all of them; nor can any one attorney list every possible task the attorney would be willing to do. By starting off with a suggested list for attorneys to use to create their own list, and then encouraging the attorneys to add whatever other records that are appropriate, the website listings will have a large number of entries which are available for full-text search, with search results being reduced by use of the website's ZIP Code radius program (enabling Users to limit search results to a radius up to 50 miles from a selected U.S. 5-digit ZIP Code). Some lawyers limit their practice and in some states are permitted to say they "specialize" in a field of law. Lawyers are invited to provide that information in their listings, when appropriate.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: The website does not rate any of the lawyers or represent that any of the persons are in fact lawyers duly admitted to practice, or that they are in good standing as lawyers; or that they have any necessary skill, competence or experience in any or all of the fields or tasks set forth in any of their listings. The User will have to communicate directly with the lawyer and obtain enough information directly from the lawyer to determine whether to hire the attorney. The website obtains no referral fee or payment from any of the listing lawyers and the website is open to all lawyers (provided they agree to accept email communications from the website).

substantially more information relating to the few keywords in the ad found by the prospective client
The ZIP-radius search enables clients or lawyers to search for a lawyer within a specified number of miles (up to 50) from a specified ZIP code,
thereby eliminating the listings of a vast majority of the lawyers who are too distant to be of any help (in certain types of matters)
The website will help lawyers and others find lawyers anywhere in the country if the location of the lawyer is less important than the skill involved
The whole list of Field/Task records for a specific attorney is available through one of the search options, so prospective clients and other
attorneys can see the different fields/tasks for which the listing attorneys is seeking clients)
The website enables a client to look for a lawyer with a skill or interest in obtaining a specific type of matter, which is difficult to do when
lawyers generally indicate the broad field they are in and do not generally try to list the different types of legal tasks they would be willing to
handle
The website is FREE for attorneys and for clients
The lawyer does not have to continually restore his/her ads after several weeks (as they have to do when advertising in craigslist.com)
A lawyer can find other lawyers with whom to partner in matters
Putting it another way, the website can be used by lawyers to create a virtual law firm, assembling the legal skills as they are needed
A lawyer can use the database to refer matters to other attorneys (often for referral fees, making sure, at all times, that the professional
rules for referral fees are fully complied with)
A lawyer can expect to receive cases from other lawyers (with the same referral fee issue in some of the instances)
A lawyer can use the website to find other lawyers having needed skills
Because the website is 100% legal services, there is no need to waste space and time by having anything other than the "bare bones"
of what tasks the lawyer is offering to do and the areas of law in which the lawyer is offering his/her services. This enables each Field/Task
listing, generally, to be reduced to a word or short phrase, and each lawyer to have scores or even hundreds of specific-task listings
The 101 categories used by the nation’s federal district courts to analyze their cases are made available for lawyers admitted to federal
court to state the type of cases they are willing to take on
The use by listing attorneys of the Suggested Field/Task Database will make it easier for prospective clients to find an attorney, if the
prospective client looks for appropriate key words and phrases from the Suggested Field/Task Database.
Warning: Do not limit yourself to such pre-programmed terms. Attorneys are requested to put in other words and phrases
(especially words and phrases probably to be used by prospective clients) to describe their fields/tasks.
